Using water more efficiently to brew beer
Case study: BrewDog
Being environmentally friendly is important to BrewDog, that’s why we help them to manage their water more efficiently.
Since BrewDog was created in 2007 the company has gone from strength to strength; last year they brewed a massive 134,000 hectolitres of beer – that’s over 23 million pints.
BrewDog’s state of the art brewery, located just north of Aberdeen, is one of the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly breweries in the world, and in 2014 BrewDog selected us as their water retailer. This means that we supply their brewery with the water it uses to make their famous craft beer, along with other water services.
To support BrewDog in their mission to become as environmentally friendly as possible we installed a pair of water flow monitors at the brewery, giving the team instant access to their water usage data. By monitoring their water usage BrewDog can keep an eye on their consumption as well as spot any leaks – leading to more efficient water usage.
We work proactively with BrewDog to understand their needs and to help support their business growth and increasing production. We’ve also recently developed a water management plan for the brewery, designed to help them better manage water, make efficiencies, save money and reduce wasted water.
